Salad Recipe: Green Papaya Salad
1-4 Thai chilies
1/2 garlic clove
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste
1/2 cup sliced cherry or grape tomatoes
1 tablespoon crab sauce
1/2 tablespoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon pickled fish or padek(optional)
1 teaspoon MSG (optional)
1/8 to 1/4 lime juice
3 cups shredded green papaya (a healthy handful = 1 cup)
Crush all dry ingredients together. Add tomatoes and pound until juices are all released. Add all liquid ingredient with pieces of crab and mix. When the sugar and shrimp paste are dissolved add the papaya and mix thoroughly.
Serve with cabbage and pork rinds. Great with grilled meat and sticky rice.
